Feeding & Nutrition

Products that support complex feeding and nutrition needs

Feeding challenges rarely have one simple solution. These reviews cover formulas, calorie and vitamin supplements, drinking tools, adaptive utensils, medication preparation, and the practical routines our family developed through years of use.

This category brings together nutrition products and tools for taking part in meals. They serve different purposes. Our experience can help you identify practical questions, but it cannot determine another person’s nutrition plan, swallowing needs or medication instructions.

Formula and supplements: the Neocate review describes an earlier stage of Renee’s life, while the Kate Farms review describes a later part of our feeding experience. These are not interchangeable recommendations. Our Duocal review concerns adding calories; the NanoVM review concerns a vitamin and mineral supplement. Discuss product choice and quantities with the clinician or dietitian who knows the person’s full feeding plan.

Participation at the table: the adaptive-utensil review discusses grip and control, along with the tradeoff of weight. The switch-activated pouring-cup review describes bringing a school skill into family cooking at home. It uses separate switches for pouring and returning, and its stand takes up space. Consider both access to the controls and the caregiver setup around the activity.

Drinks away from home: the Stojo review explains the appeal of a cup that collapses for carrying and includes a straw. Cleaning the straw and the lack of insulation are part of the tradeoff. The separate silicone-straw review offers another perspective on the drinking tools our family has used.

Medication preparation: the Ezy Dose review covers the tool’s handling and cleanup. It does not establish whether a particular medicine may be crushed. Check that with a pharmacist before using a crusher.
