Renee is a young woman growing up in the Chicago suburbs and currently in her final year of high school. She is undiagnosed but lives with a combination of motor, cognitive, and feeding challenges that shape how she experiences the world and how our family navigates daily life. Over the years, we’ve learned that progress rarely comes from one perfect solution, but from many small, thoughtful adaptations — at home, at school, and everywhere in between.

What defines Renee most, though, isn’t her challenges — it’s her joy. She is an extraordinarily happy person with a contagious smile and a deep love for the things that make her feel calm and connected. She adores Frozen, listens to music constantly, lights up when she’s on a horse, and loves garden walks.
